Presentation of the multi-instrumentalist Rémy Schroeter

After a first career in business, Rémy Schroeter has taught general knowledge subjects for nearly twenty years at the professional school of Marcelin in Morges. It has recently retired. Of Freibourg origin, he has lived for many years in Les Cullayes, not far from the zoo of Servion in the canton of Vaud.

In addition to gardening, do-it-yourself and sport (he is black belt second dan in judo), choral and instrumental music are among his great passions. His collection of worldwide instruments includes almost three hundred items, of which some are extremely original, even unique.

Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Sciences of Education from the University of Geneva at the age of fifty, he also obtained a diploma of non professional choirmasster at the age of fifty-five. He had the opportunity to travel all over the five continents these last twenty years playing among other things Alphornas a duo with his son, Büchel and little bells in Hong-Kong, New Zealand, Morocco, Brazil, Romania, Japan and Argentina.

He has realized one of its dreams in January 2007: to play with his Alphorn on the top of Kilimandjaro at 6000 m of altitude. He also played in 2008 on the top of the Bishorn and of the Mont Blanc at 4810 m of altitude.

He has also animated many various manifestations in Switzerland and Europe with more than fifty different instruments. Moreover, in December 2001 he had the great honour of being guest musician of the Orchestra of the French-speaking Switzerland to play the part of musical saw in a symphony of a well-known Finnish composer. .
